About the design process

Treske’s workforce responds with flair and enthusiasm to special commissions; they all enjoy meeting the special challenges and take pride in fulfilling the opportunities they provide. At Treske we have many years experience of dealing with a wide range of clients on a diverse range of commissions. Some of our recent commissions are outlined and illustrated in our brochure.

From the initial approach by an architect, designer, private client, organisation or institution through to the finished installation or delivery, we give priority to that good working relationship that depends on communication and mutual respect.

We work either from architect and designer’s drawings and briefs or we can provide our own design service via our experienced in-house team and associate designers.
We can source unusual woods as well as the full range of hardwoods. While the hand-crafting of solid hardwoods is our forte, we also have experience of successfully commissioning elements of a scheme that require other materials - such as metal and glass.

We are sympathetic to the constraints and challenges of heritage sites and significant buildings. For example, we are sensitive to the needs of ancient churches and long established institutions yet respond with equal skill to the aesthetics and materials of modern architecture.

Making replica furniture; matching existing woods and extant furniture, whether recently installed, antique or historic, is also within the skills of our accomplished craftsmen and women.

Supply of appropriate contract furnishing is also undertaken, from exceptionally well designed stacking chairs to robust restaurant tables.
