Newby Hall and Gardens
For the new entrance pavilion to Newby Hall and Gardens near Ripon,
Treske designed, made and installed a reception desk in ash. Made
in 5 sections and fixed on site, it has part glazing with display
shelves and store cupboards. The desk, and the staff who stand behind
it, are the first point of call for the 200,000 visitors who enjoy
the house and gardens at Newby Hall each year.
The height of the desk
is designed to be welcoming, despite its substantial size, and external
detailing was inspired by neo-Classical
architectural
motifs in the 18th century house which was furnished by Thomas
Chippendale with interiors by Robert Adam.

The
desk under construction in Treske’s
workshops.
