The Westwood kitchen was designed after very careful and detailed consultation with the client and her architect Tristan Wigfall of Alma-nac Architects. It was crucial that the kitchen furniture had to fit perfectly with many architectural features. The window is a close fit with the worktop forming the sill and the island hob is serviced with a pop-up extractor which is vented via a duct incorporated within the concrete floor screed.
The main body of cabinets along the wall are flat veneered doors in American Black Walnut in a handle-less design, using touch catches on the doors and drawers. The island also has simple flat doors but with a top moulded continuous handle feature incorporated, and all finished in a matt white hard lacquer. The kitchen is equipped with a full suite of Neff ovens, steam oven and microwave, an induction hob and an integrated dishwasher. Refrigeration is located in a walk-in pantry set off to the right-hand end of the kitchen accessed via a sliding door. This is the main food storage area; the kitchen houses crockery, linen, pots and pans.
The kitchen table, designed by Treske, features simple, clean lines and it is easy to store chairs neatly underneath it. It’s very comfortable to sit down at, with no table leg between the knees. Although this was a one-off exercise, it is a lovely table for a kitchen and could easily be repeated for another customer.
Key Features: oak and walnut high gloss walnut doors, island and sideboard, with LED lighting, a Franke Kubus sink, a Quooker Fusion tap, Neff ovens and a special Treske-designed kitchen table, made in oak.
Well what can I say? I love my kitchen. I love the look of it and I love the wood it’s made of. It goes very well in my wonderful house and the timbers match very well the other wood I have in the house. The craftsmanship is excellent – everything fits very smoothly and looks extremely well made. The design is great – I love having drawers instead of cupboards. The appliances all work well and I have had no problems. As for service, I think it was brilliant! It is probably one of the main reasons for going to a firm such as Treske. Enormous attention to detail, willingness to spend hours getting the design just as I wanted it - remember the rubbish bins and the cutlery drawers! You were happy to work with me to design the table and the cabinets the way I envisaged them while being creative in suggesting ideas. When I wanted the white central island you were happy to find a way to do this although I think it was a new item for you. Your installation team was great – everything was done smoothly and efficiently. And no quibbles when something wasn’t quite right. I would have no hesitation recommending Treske – and have already recommended you to one friend who is refurbishing her house. Best wishes Jenny
