The essence of Treske is that we are not mass producers, and each piece of furniture is treated as a new and individual commission. We work closely with our customers to tailor the furniture to their requirements, and this involves the timber choice and its finish and colour. The design may be an adaptation of an existing item in our range, or in many cases is conceived as a completely new solution to the customers specific needs and aesthetic.

Treske always aim to make your furniture with the least amount of fuss and disturbance. The whole process of design and specification can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, depending on how fast we can work with you to progress designs. Generally, furniture takes 10 to 14 weeks to make once designs are agreed and the order placed, but this timescale is related to and dependent on how many orders we are committed to over the next few months.

We are one of the few British companies who actually design and make furniture, so what you buy can be matched in wood, style, finish and colour to the piece you may want to add to your collection in ten years time.  Many customers, once they find us, come back time after time, to have different pieces made and to have resurfacing of tables or other alterations.

Treske are proud of the fact that we have not only made furniture for most locations in the UK but also send items of furniture abroad for customers including the US, Canada, Europe and the Middle and Far East. We have use trusted shippers to deliver your furniture.

Treske utilise the most appropriate and durable materials in the construction of all their furniture and where possible solid hardwood is used, but always with a preference to use solid hardwood whenever possible.

An example of where solid wood is not appropriate would be for wardrobe carcases or internal frameworks as this would add cost unnecessarily and be a wasteful use of valuable timber for sections never seen.

A flat panel constructed in solid timber is inherently unstable and can result in changes in shape and dimension.

It is possible to manufacture a carcase for a cabinet, large or small, using solid timbers only, but this requires the use of traditional framed and panel construction. This looks very attractive but does not readily suit the more contemporary design of furniture where a flat veneered panel may be more appropriate and cost effective.

Glass, metals and ceramics are all used if required. For example, a decorative leaded pane of glass in a cupboard door.

Treske wardrobe carcases are made using medium density fibreboard with a real wood veneer finish, with veneers available in a wide variety of timbers. If you would like something different please say, however veneers are normally used for constructional stability. Wardrobe doors are made in solid hard-wood for the more traditional designs, but may also be of veneered MDF, or a combination of veneered panel and solid hardwood, governed by the design of the furniture and its constructional needs. with many different hard woods available to choose from.

Treske use as standard a lacquer or an oil finish, but coloured oils and different sheen levels of lacquer are also available. Treske also stain or fume to produce a desired effect or to match your existing furniture, but this can depend on the wood chosen. We will advise you on woods and finishes.

Yes – Treske painted furniture is painted in the client's choice of colour. We have brochures to hand in our showroom from Little Green, Zoffany and Farrow and Ball. If you're matching existing interior colours we can colour match the paint for you.

The furniture is first spray primed, then depending on your finish preference either hand painted or sprayed again. A spray finish will be very smooth, while hand painting will leave some brush marks.

We give a full guarantee on all our products, guaranteeing against any faulty component or material, or any failure in normal use, occurring within two years of purchase. In practice we look after our customers furniture for far longer than the two years should it be necessary as our reputation for quality care and attention is important to us.
