The Ayton Low Chest of Drawers is part of Treske’s Ayton range — a collection inspired by the village of Great Ayton and handcrafted in North Yorkshire using sustainable hardwoods. Designed as a refined storage piece with a strong visual identity, the low chest offers generous drawer space while keeping a low profile ideal for bedrooms, hallways or living areas. Its distinctive sub‑frame and handcrafted detailing embody the craftsmanship and design heritage that defines the Ayton collection.
The chest shares the Ayton line’s signature angular sub‑frame, originally created for a bespoke kitchen table and now expanded into a full range of coordinating Ayton furniture. Crafted in European ash, oak or American walnut, all sourced from FSC suppliers, it is finished in a natural oil as standard, with additional finish and stain options available. The low chest features a balanced arrangement of drawers and the same clean, sculptural lines that run through the Ayton range, reflecting the symbolic curves inspired by Yorkshire’s bridges, paths and waterways.

Treske is an independent, family-owned British manufacturer with over 50 years of heritage. Their workshops and showrooms are housed in an historic Victorian maltings in Thirsk, North Yorkshire — a building that remains a beating heart of traditional cabinet making. Galvanized by a passion for the natural beauty of hardwood, Treske is defined by a commitment to creating high-quality, sustainable furniture that celebrates the unique character of every piece.
Their furniture is renowned for its superior workmanship and full customisation, offering everything from bespoke kitchens to standard designs tailored to individual dimensions. Known for their mastery of solid hardwoods including oak, ash, and walnut, Treske combines time-honoured joinery with a refined, clean aesthetic. Their ability to integrate new designs with historic settings — including prestigious commissions for cathedrals and royal chapels — is a testament to the exceptional skill held within their Yorkshire workshop.
Treske blends artisanal, hand-finished techniques with modern design technology to bring bespoke visions to life. Remaining close to the raw material, their designers and makers work collaboratively with every client, ensuring that each piece is perfectly suited to its space and purpose. From the first sketch in their Thirsk showroom to the final hand-polished surface, the Treske process is an iterative journey of precision, care, and a deep-seated pride in British manufacturing.
