Kitchen Project - Bedale

The island is shaped to provide a large useful working area with pan drawers that face facing the AGA. The island then slims down towards the centre of the kitchen to allow good access to the sink and tall cabinet storage areas.

The traditional Belfast sink is positioned in front of the window, overlooking the garden and main entrance to the house. The granite on all the worksurfaces is a rich dark green Ubatuba and behind the sink is taken into the window reveal, so that a wipe clean, as well as a handy position for the house plants, is created. To the right of the sink a plate rack is hung on the wall.

At the opposite end of the kitchen to the AGA, the original fireplace position is now filled with drawers, more worksurface and a low mantle shelf.

The tall cabinetry is positioned opposite the sink and is divided into a free standing dresser with display lighting, and the main tall cabinets that conceal a hidden pantry larder cupboard and doors also to the fridge and freezer. All the cabinets have wrought iron handles.

The high mantles and bespoke cabinetry give this kitchen a warm homely feel, which combined with the storage, a hidden pantry and appliances, a range of deep and shallow drawers make this a practical and handsome kitchen.
