The Moorside kitchen is a framed painted shaker kitchen literally designed for the family butcher and baker, to meet the clients' design brief and living requirements.
Situated at one end of a traditional and beautiful Yorkshire moorland long barn conversion, this Shaker kitchen design uses the most amazing materials of wood, steel and glass and is a great blend within the open plan surroundings. Slow curves allow the light to flow around the kitchen and into the generous living space.
The kitchen is designed to fit within one end of the barn, set within the natural boundary of the staircase and thick outside walls the approach into the space is past a communal peninsular island finished with a Dekton Trillium surface. The peninsular backs onto one arm of the kitchen created by the incorporation of a reclaimed end grain butchers block as a preparation area set above storage cupboards. Working round past other cupboards the undermount sink is set within a beautiful Dekton Entzo surface that is continued as a tall splashback, not just behind the sink but also behind the cooking area around and behind the AGA. Above the AGA is a mantle specially designed to accommodate the family’s blacksmith work.
Beyond the main kitchen further into the house are other large larder and storage cabinets, all of which have their shaker doors painted and use handmade copper strap hinges, pull and knob handles to link all aspects of this lovely kitchen together.
