Kitchen Project - Rainton

The kitchen design fits within a large open plan area of the house with views to the garden. One of the main features of the kitchen is the island offset from a supporting beam in the centre of the kitchen which has been carefully positioned at an angle to allow direct views to the garden. An induction hob, with a concealed ceiling extractor, allows cooking to take place on the island. Also incorporated within the island are display shelves and wine cooler.

Further ovens are set into two tall cupboards that flank the American fridge freezer, sitting in an alcove in the space between the house’s timber framing. A second tall cabinet doors disguise the opening for the generous walk-in pantry.

The double undermounted sink is set below the worksurface where White Macaubas quartzite chosen. The soft graining of the worksurface, that is also used on the island, combined with the elegant curves created by the island and cabinets on the end of the sink run of cabinets make this design soft and light.

The soft features in the room, including the oak breakfast bar top, are complemented by exquisite finishes including the paint chosen for the framed Shaker doors, and the polished cup handles.
